Dorothy Suzanne "Suzy" (Williams) Carter

 Dorothy Suzanne “Suzy” (Williams) Carter was born in Saigon, Vietnam on February 24, 1975. She was born during the collapse of South Vietnam in 1975, when President Gerald Ford ordered the evacuation of Vietnamese orphans from Saigon in the face of a massive North Vietnamese offensive, and in April, 1975 Suzy was one of more than 3,000 orphans who were evacuated in a mission, coined Operation Babylift.  In April 1975, Suzy was adopted by Jerry and Patricia (Sparks) Williams and grew up in Lilburn, GA. Suzy’s mother Patricia passed away suddenly when Suzy was 10 and four years later in 1990, Jerry married Beverly (Foster) Williams.  After graduating from Berkmar High School in 1993, Suzanne met Alan at Georgia College, and they started dating in March 1994. Upon Alan’s graduation from college, they were married on October 17, 1998. They were blessed with 3 wonderful boys, Evan, Dixon, and Grayson. Suzanne loved being a mom and was so proud of her boys. She was always present for her children and took great pride in cheering for the boys no matter what sports they were playing: baseball, basketball, football, wrestling. She was there for it all and loved screaming her heart out for their teams. Outside of sports, she was quiet and sometimes shy. It took a while for her to warm up, but once she did, you knew that you were loved by someone very special. Suzy loved children and spent many years working as a daycare professional. She also loved cats and throughout her life, she always had a pet kitty.  Suzanne passed away suddenly Saturday, April 6th, in Covington, GA. She will be remembered for her kind, generous and warm-hearted spirit and beautiful soul. 

A Funeral Service for Suzanne will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024, 10:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family, at the funeral home, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
