Rufus Junior Roberts

Rufus Junior Roberts of Oxford passed away February 17, 2016, at the age of 83. Mr. Roberts was of the Baptist faith. He loved going fishing, vegetable gardening and camping in the mountains. In addition, he enjoyed football and stock car racing. Mr. Roberts never had biological children of his own, but was a father and grandfather to many. He was preceded in death by two wives, Edna Dalton Roberts, and Pat Moody; parents, Jessie McCord and Lucy Gary Roberts; sister, Inez Johnson; brother, Grady Roberts.

Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, Floyd and Paula Roberts, Jerry and Janie Roberts all of Covington; sister-in-law, Roberta Roberts of Glenshaw, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews; special friend, Jane McCart.

Funeral Services for Mr. Roberts will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road in Covington, with Rev. Jerry Lee Roberts and Rev. J.B. Leachman officiating and interment following in Sardis Cemetery. Friends are welcome to join the family at the funeral home for visitation Friday, February 19, from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, Attention: Karen Lindsey, 1687 Tullie Circle, Atlanta, GA 30329-2316.
