Pearl Word Obituary
Pearl Word of Porterdale, passed away January 15, 2015, at the age of 89. She loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. Additionally, Mrs. Word enjoyed gardening and shopping. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Johnny Word; daughters, Judy Mayberry and Jean Pitts; her son, Mike Ogles; and her parents, Amos and Mary (Kelley) McDaniel.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Lawrence Adams of Porterdale; sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Cheryl Ogles of Covington, Charles Ogles of Porterdale; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Word will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, Covington, with Pastor Larry Bennett officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, January 16, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
