Willie Taylor

Willie Taylor, of Covington, passed away December 30, 2020, at the age of 86. Willie’s heart was full of love and he shared it unconditionally with the family he adored, his beloved church - High Point Baptist, and with anyone in need of kindness. He had a positive approach to any problem which made him the go-to for advice and support. Willie could fix most anything in need of repair, and he was a master woodworker. His craftsmanship was most admired in the rocking horses he made for his precious grandchildren – keepsakes to be cherished for years to come. Willie was preceded in death by his sons, William Douglas Taylor, Zachary Brian Taylor; and parents, Charles Roy and Margie Lee Taylor.

Willie will be remembered with great affection by the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Beverly Taylor; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Allison Taylor; grandchildren, Sarah Gibson, Jessica Taylor, Olivia Taylor, Kelly Taylor, Christina Taylor, William Taylor, Owen Taylor; daughter-in-law, Maria Taylor; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held for Willie on Monday, January 4, 2021, 12:00 Noon, at High Point Baptist Church, 12025 Highway 36, in Covington, with Pastor T.J. Bennett and Rev. Tom McElhaney officiating. Interment will follow in Melwood Cemetery, 5170 East Ponce de Leon Ave, in Stone Mountain. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the church, two hours prior to his service, from 10 AM – 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Memorial Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
