SFC Nikyisha (Kyisha) Boyd Obituary

SFC Nikyisha (Kyisha) Tamara Boyd was born in Queens, New York and then raised in Florida. She attended and graduated from Gateway High school in Kissimmee, FL. After she joined the Army in Tampa, FL. She resided in Fayetteville, NC as SFC until she passed away early November of 2020 at the age of 35. Kyisha proudly served her country honorably and nobly in the United States Army serving overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwaiti, two terms in Qatar and the Philippines, and Lithuania. Nikyisha was awarded many medals for her courageous acts such as DMSM: Defense Meritorious Service Medal, MSM: Meritorious Service Medal, JSCM: Joint Service Commendation Medal, ARCOM: Army Commendation Medal, JMUA: Joint Meritorious Unit Award, MUC: Meritorious Unit Commendation, AGCM: Army Good Conduct Medal, NDSM: National Defense Service Medal,ACM-CS: Afghanistan Campaign Medal W/ Campaign Star,ICM-CS: Iraq Campaign Medal W/ Campaign Star, GWTEM: Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, GWTSM: Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NOPDR: Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon,ASR: Army Service Ribbon, OSR: Army Overseas Service Ribbon, NATOMDL: NATO Medal, as well as the PRCHTBAD: Parachute Badge. Selfless and humble, she was the rock and glue of her family. She was very family oriented and treasured the time spent with them. When she wasn’t with family, she was with her friends who she always adopted as her own siblings. Nikyisha was the president of the K9 TOO M/C, riding her Kawasaki and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Her bike club was one of her passions. With her director instincts within her club she led a ride for domestic violence, volunteered at Fayetteville Animal Protection Services, 2nd Harvest Food bank and she was a community organizer of women empowerment focus groups. She made an impact on her job and her community. She was well rounded and well loved. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Louise Edwards.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her MOTHER, Michelle Lambie-Levy and husband, Dermot Levy; FATHER, Peter Boyd; SISTERS, Shemeen Campbell, Raya Levy, Raeanne Miller, Kaemeen Levy; BROTHERS, Lionel Boyd, Daniel Boyd, Kevin Boyd, Taevon Boyd; PATERNAL GRANDMOTHER, Erma Bennett; MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER, Olive Walker; AUNTS, Sophia Mebane, Karen Bennett, Christine Bennett; UNCLES, Chris Mebane, Rudolph Bennett, Michael Bennett, Michael Lambie, Derek Lambie, Anthony Lambie, Micheal Lambie, Phillip Samual; NIECES AND NEPHEWS, Anomica Kwamina, Jazmin Shavann Boyd, Malena Lyric Mizzell, Adonis Santos; as well as several god-children.

 

A Funeral Service for Nikyisha will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020, 2:00 P.M., at Potter’s House, 1120 Crowell Road N, in Covington, with Pastor Ricky L.
