Robert Lane, of Newton County, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022. Mr. Lane was a proud patriot, serving in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years. While in the military, he was stationed in the Philippians and Hawaii. Mr. Lane was of Baptist faith and loved the Lord. He held a variety of professions, including being a pharmacist and a farmer. Mr. Lane was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. He enjoyed tending to his vegetable and flower gardens. In addition, Mr. Lane raised fruit trees and collected the fruit they produced. He had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling down roads he had never been on before. Mr. Lane was a very kind, considerate, and giving man to everyone he met. He was proud of his heritage and being half Creek Indian.
Mr. Lane is survived by his wife; and brother, Russell Lane.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Lane will be held Sunday, June 5, 2022, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family has requested potted plants in lieu of cut flowers and floral arrangements.
