Nadyne Tisdale Thompson

Nadyne Tisdale Thompson, of Covington, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the age of 82. Mrs. Thompson was a devout Christian and attended First Baptist Church of Covington. She worked with the Autauga County Historic Society, in Alabama. Mrs. Thompson was also a rural census taker in 1970 for the rural areas of the county. She had a servant’s heart and volunteered her time at several churches as a member of the choir and helping make Wednesday night suppers. Mrs. Thompson served as the den mother for the cub and boy scouts. Additionally, she volunteered in the community to educate her peers about forestry and conservation efforts. Mrs. Thompson was a social butterfly and was always actively engaged in the activities she did. She enjoyed gardening and was a phenomenal cook. Mrs. Thompson adored her boys, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and treasured the time spent with them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Pearl Tisdale; and brother, Jerome Tisdale.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Henry D. Thompson; sons, Darren Thompson (Deborah), Dale Thompson (Sherri); grandchildren, Sean Thompson (Rachael), Sarah Lashbrook (Josh), Hannah Thompson, Ross Thompson; great-grandchildren, Malachi Lashbrook, Elizabeth Lashbrook; sister, Gayle Crume (Stephen); sister-in-law, Karen Tisdale; brother-in-law, Jerry Thompson (Ruth); nieces, Tamara Thompson (Jim Nielson), Stephanie Thompson, Shasta Nixon (David); nephews, Steve Crume (Katye), Mike Hanus (Joella); and great-nieces and great-nephews, Josie Crume, Samuel Nixon, Ethan Nixon, Kyra Hanus, Maddox Hanus, Sean Hanus (Krystal).

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Thompson will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023, 11:00 A.M., at the First Baptist Church, 1139 Usher Street NW, in Covington, with Dr. Cody McNutt officiating. She will lie in state one hour prior to her service from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Friends are invited to visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, on Monday, January 23, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Service for Mrs. Thompson will be held Thursday, January 26, 2023, 11:00 A.M., at First United Methodist Church Prattville, 100 East 4th Street, Prattville, Alabama 36067 and Interment will be held in Prattville Memorial Gardens, 841 Fairview Avenue, in Prattville, Alabama.
