Melvin Brake Obituary

Melvin Brake, of Newborn, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at the age of 52. Few things in life rivaled Melvin's love of family. He shared a special bond with each of his loved ones - especially his sister, Angie, whom he adored, and his son, Kamden, affectionately referred to as his "sidekick"! Melvin believed in working hard and making people smile. He naturally put the needs of others above his own and will be remembered for his kind heart and generous disposition. Melvin was preceded in death by his mother, Charline Naomi Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Candice Brake; daughters, Catelynn Brake, Jaycie Brake; sons, Kamden Brake, Bentley Brake, all of Newborn; parents, Melvin and Patricia Brake; sister, Angie Rue of Covington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Laura Brake of Mansfield, Johnny and Julie Brake of Covington, Dean and Melanie Brake of Six Mile, SC; as well as mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cynthia and Mike Brake of Gordon.

A private service will be held at a later date.
