Martha Wellborn Malcolm went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2023, with her daughter and two granddaughters by her side. Mrs. Malcolm was born in Morgan County, Georgia in 1916. In the 1940’s, she moved to Covington, Georgia, a town she loved and never left. She retired from Covington Manufacturing Company after 25 years. Mrs. Malcolm was a member of High Point Baptist Church for 70 years and spent her entire life devoted to serving others.
Mrs. Malcolm is preceded in death by husband, Marion Malcolm; daughter, Margaret Dimsdale; grandson, Richard Wayne Smith, Jr.; grandson, Sam Dimsdale; grandson-in-law, Jim Kauffman; and parents Jesse and Omie Wellborn; sister, Thelma Towler; brothers, Herbert Wellborn and Rev. Roy Felton Wellborn.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Mobley (Henry); son-in-law, Ronnie Dimsdale (Elsie); best friend, Debbie Anderson; grandson, Jim Sims (Ainsley); granddaughters, Renee Kauffman; Diana Segrest (Sean), Rhonda Miller (Matt); great-grandchildren, Keith, Brittney, Courtney, Savanah, Taylor, Grayson, Chase, Kayla, Shelby, Alyssa, Nathan, and Haley; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Malcolm spent her final years at Merryvale Assisted Living in Oxford, GA surrounded by many special friends and caretakers that became like family.
Visitation for Mrs. Malcolm will be at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 12 pm - 2 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 2 pm in the chapel with burial to follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. We request all of Mrs. Malcolm’s friends and loved ones join us in celebrating her beautiful life.
