Marilyn McClain Obituary

Marilyn McClain, of Covington, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, at the age of 76. Mrs. McClain was a strong woman and a cancer survivor. She was an accomplished Southern cook, who took pride in her traditional family recipes and enjoyed cooking for her family. When Mrs. McClain wasn’t making delicious meals, she enjoyed crocheting, watching soap operas, and talking on the phone. But most of all, she adored having visitors and time spent with family is what she treasured most - especially with her identical twin sister, Madalyn. Mrs. McClain was preceded in death by her parents, Yancy Donald and Ethel Whiting Milligan.

Survivors include her children, Leslie Holloway, Sheri Travis, James McClain; grandchildren, Kearstyne Holloway, Brianna Holloway, Zachery VonAllmen, Ashley VonAllmen, Nathan Alderson; great-grandchildren, Layla, Erasmus, Micah, Elijah; siblings, Ronnie, Madalyn, Donna, Kathy; nieces and nephews, Jerry, Jeanne, Lori, Amanda; as well as several other loving family members.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. McClain will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, one hour prior to her service, from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M.
