Kathy Lowry Obituary

Kathy Lowry, age 72, of Covington, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020. Although Kathy grew up in Atlanta, she called Covington home for the past forty-one years. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Ronnie, she lived on various Army bases during her husband's military training prior to his tour in Vietnam. Gifted with a selfless nature and caring presence, Kathy had a way of uplifting others. She demonstrated an unconditional love and deep devotion to her family, leaving no doubt that they were the center of her world. Kathy's artistic genius lent itself to many endeavors, including selling her creations at craft shows and sharing her talents with friends. She inspired the imaginations of the children of Eastridge Community Church, where she was a vital member and took a special interest in working with the children's ministry. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Helen (Richardson) Smith; and sister, Shirley Pugh.

Kathy's memory will be held close in the hearts of many, especially her husband of 54 years, Ronnie Lowry; daughter, Regina Lowry; sons and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Erin Lowry, all of Covington; Jonathan Lowry of Alpharetta; grandchildren, Jordan Savage, Noah Savage, Jonah Lowry, Eli Lowry, Ridge Lowry, Piper Lowry, Olive Lowry; brothers and sister-in-law, Tommy and Michelle Smith of Covington, Ray Mobley of Stockbridge; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Visitation for Kathy will be held Monday, February 3, 2020, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
