Julie Smith Obituary

Julie Smith, of Covington, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the age of 55. A native of Athens, Ms. Smith was the daughter of the late Calvin and Ruth (Maloy) McRee. She was an employee of Becton Dickinson and attended services at New Life Praise Center. Ms. Smith loved God and had a strong faith. She was a caregiver for the elderly for the last fifteen years and showed them nothing but compassion and care. Ms. Smith loved spending time with her family and friends enjoying life – especially her son and grandson. She brought laughter to everyone around her and will be remembered by her sweet her nature. Mrs. Smith was preceded by her parents, Ruth and Calvin McRee.

She is survived by her son, Kevin McRee; grandson, Landon McRee; sister, Jennifer Adamson (Brad) and her daughter, Morgan Day; brother, Scott McRee (Mary Jane); aunt, Deborah Ray; cousins, Traci Clay (Billy), Kristi Whisnant (Jeff).
