Johnnie "Squirrel" Hamby Obituary

Johnnie “Squirrel” Hamby of Oxford, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020, at the age of 75. Mr. Hamby enjoyed listening to his CB radio and riding his motorcycles. He loved his family dearly - whether it was cracking jokes or telling stories, spending time with them is what he cherished most. Mr. Hamby was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Ruth Armistead; father, John Lonzo Hamby.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife, Myrtie Elizabeth Hamby; daughters and sons-in-law, Fawn and Jimmy Wofford, April and Rick Stafford; step-daughters, Nola Zimmer, Jodi Eason; step-sons, Andy Eason, Matt Eason; grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Dillon Dutton, Dalton Dutton and Benjamin Jones.

A Memorial Visitation for Mr. Hamby will be held Friday, October 30, 2020, from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.  

 

CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public.  Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.  In addition, gatherings are limited to 50 persons or less in our facility at one time.  Please honor these restrictions for the safety of the family, yourself, and our staff.
