Jean Garner

Mrs. Jean Garner, age 79, of Covington, Georgia passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022.  She was born October 28, 1942 to Plinnie and Eva Mae Bowen who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. Garner was a graduate of Newton County High School.  She volunteered at Scholastic Books, and Food Bank.

Mrs. Garner enjoyed spending time and being with all of her family. She and her husband Guy were missionaries to Israel for 6 years until his passing. She attended church at The Voice of Pentecost where she was a longtime member. Mrs. Garner was an avid traveler and loved to be able to visit the friends she made in Israel  Mrs. Garner is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Guy Garner, her twin sister Jane Scoggins, her sister Nina Burnham and her brothers Roy Bowen and Troy Bowen, her daughter Beth Garner, and her sons, Jamie Garner, and Greg Garner. 

Mrs. Garner is survived by her daughter Sherry (Jody) Drake, her son Norman Garner, her 10 grandchildren, her 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. 

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Garner will be held Monday, April 25, 2:00 P.M., at Voice of Pentecost, 4648 Salem Road, in Covington, with Pastor Gavin Moon officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family Sunday, April 24, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
