Jane Baskin, of Oxford, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the age of 73. Mrs. Baskin grew up in the Emory Village area and graduated from Druid High School. She got married in Glenn Memorial Methodist Church to her husband, Harold. Mrs. Baskin dutifully and happily followed her husband to seven states for his career. She enjoyed a plethora of activities including bridge, cooking, gardening, traveling, and dancing. Additionally, she cherished time spent with her book clubs, social events, and family gatherings. Mrs. Baskin was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn Lee and Ruel Hightower; sister, Mary Lee Hightower; and brother, Ruel Hightower.
Mrs. Baskin is survived by her husband, Harold Baskin; sons, Wayne Baskin; Jason Baskin; grandson, Ryan Baskin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Baskin will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family following her service for a visitation from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, https://donate.lovetotherescue.org/give/, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/donate/. A Private Cryptside Service will be held at Westview Cemetery.
