Henry Douglas Nix

Henry Douglas Nix, of Covington, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021, at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Nix and Dorothy Bray, and his loving wife of 53 years, Elaine Harper Nix. Mr. Nix proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He was skilled in multiple trades including construction and reupholstering.  His happiness came from being surrounded by family and friends.  He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved camping in the mountains. He also loved to go to dinner and play pool with the “Old Geezards” on Mondays and Fridays.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Buddy and Cricket Nix, Steven and Colleen Nix, Ha and Danita Doan, Jeff and Darcy Nix, and Neeraj and Sandi Bhardwaj; his grandchildren, Dougie, Brenna, Jeremy, Tiffany, Bobby, Wayne, Haley, Jacob, Denisse, Tierney, Chris, Devin, Paige, Levi, Montana, Christopher, Brendan, Andrew, Kayla, Connor, James, Mary Helen, Chandni, Josh, and Priya; and 15 great-grandchildren. His sisters, Laverne Gill and Kay Dover; his in-laws, Barbara Witherington, Norman and Wynona Harper and a multitude of loving family and friends.

A Service for Mr. Nix will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor David Payne officiating. Visitation is from 12:00 – 2:00 prior to the service.  Everyone is welcome to join the family celebrate the life our beloved Daddy, Pop, and Paw Paw!
