Eleanor Klimaszewski, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the age of 95. Mrs. Klimaszewski was a devout Christian and organist for Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and Mansfield United Methodist Church. She had a deep love for music and focused on music studies while she attended Shorter College. Mrs. Klimaszewski was a resident of Newton County since 1955 and enjoyed traveling in her spare time. Additionally, she was an avid golfer and member of the women’s golf group at Hard Labor Creek. Mrs. Klimaszewski was extremely involved in her children’s lives and the activities they participated in, including booster clubs, girl scouts, boy scouts, and much more. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew E. Klimaszewski; daughter, Kathy Klimaszewski; granddaughter, Kelli Taliaferro; grandson, Chris Woleslagle; parents, Darwin T. and Lillian Vaughn; and brother, Darwin Vaughn, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann Woleslagle, Cindy McGahee, Libby Watson (Ralph); sons, Matt Klimaszewski (Barbie), Steve Klimaszewski (Linda); 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Klimaszewski will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2023, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 9, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
