Dr. Edward Blaine DeLong

Dr. Edward Blaine DeLong, of Social Circle, passed away Friday, July 17, 2020, at the age of 81. Dr. DeLong served his country in the United States Air Force. He served his Lord as a pastor for 15 years. He ministered in the field of education for over 20 years as a writer, curriculum coordinator, principal, and administrator. Dr. DeLong had a passion for lost souls and sought to encourage all those with whom he came in contact. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Bell DeLong; mother, Mary Louise Prescott; father, Edward Blaine DeLong, Sr.; and brother, Ronald DeLong.

Survivors include his son, Michael DeLong; daughter and son-in-law, Katrina and Tim Allen;  grandchildren and their spouses, Tim and Abbey Allen, Taylor Allen, Christian DeLong, Jessica and Allen Teague, Anjelica DeLong, Jason DeLong, Nicole and Giner Ramirez, Joe DeLong; as well as great-grandchildren, Aiden Selman, Jaden Thomas, Bianca Ramirez, Colton DeLong.

A Funeral Service for Dr. DeLong will be held Sunday, July 19, 2020, 1:00 P.M., at Belmont Baptist Church, 3275 Iris Drive, in Conyers, with Pastor Tom Allen and Pastor Nolan Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2617 Vinson Highway, in Milledgeville. Friends are invited to visit with the family Saturday, July 18, 2020, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
