Charles Thomas Peters, Sr.

Charles Thomas Peters, Sr., of Rutledge, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the age of 90. Mr. Peters was a hard worker and a wonderful husband and father. He loved living on the ranch and enjoyed being outside whether he was on the lake, camping, or working on cars. In addition, he liked working in the antique business, meeting new people, and playing Rook. Mr. Peters was preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita Sammons Peters; parents, Harvey Thomas and Mattie Lou Peters; brother, Shepherd Peters.

Survivors include his daughters, Jeannie McCorkle (Gary), Jill Beverly (Fred); son, Charles Thomas Peters, Jr.; grandchildren, Chad McCorkle (Tanya), Heidi Shaw (Dale), Skie Hollingsworth (Joe), Dr. Michelle Markov (John), Jason Beverly, Russ Beverly; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Melba Sears-Gay; his loving dog, Boston; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Mr. Peters will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023, 2:00 P.M. at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Ben Reynolds officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, one hour prior to his service, from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M.
