William Samuel Bankston

William Samuel Bankston, of Woodville, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the age of 77. Mr. Bankston was a talented fisherman and lifetime member of the National League of Fishing. When he was not reeling in the latest catch, Mr. Bankston was often found at home enjoying the simple things in life and the company of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bankston; son, Robert Bankston; parents, William and Clara Bankston; brothers, Mike Bankston, Randy Bankston.

He is survived by his daughters, Jackie Bankston, Patricia Kirby (Marty); stepson, Charles “Bubba” Poole; grandchildren, Virginia Ford, Patrick Ford; great-grandchildren, Landon Simpson, Charlotte Funderburk; sisters-in-law, Barbara Bankston, Lynn Bankston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
