William Harold Harper, of Oxford, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the age of 87. Mr. Harper was born and raised on the family farm, where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors and a strong work ethic that stayed with him throughout his life. He could often be found working in the yard, tinkering in his workshop, or happily cutting grass for others. He enjoyed riding around on his golf cart, feeding the hummingbirds, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. He treasured conversations with his siblings and never missed an opportunity to joke around and make others smile. Above all, he loved his family deeply and was known for his happy spirit, kind heart, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Lois Harper; siblings, Ralph Harper, Otis Harper, Richard Harper.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Harper; daughter, Dorothy Mashburn (Bobby); son, Phillip Harper; siblings, Sarah McChesney, Jimmy Harper, and Junior Harper.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Harper will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
