Wanda Ann Nelms, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at the age of 66. Wanda was determined and hardworking. She liked keeping things in order and having things done her way. Wanda was an outstanding cook and loved spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph and Irene Agnes Almand; brother, Walter Richard Almand; husband, Robert Hannaway.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Nelms; son, Troy Womack (Vondell); step-daughters, Jenny Horton, Kathy Nelms; grandchildren, Tyler Bystrom, Shayla Bystrom, Ellen Grace Power, Ashley Brown, Angel Nelms, Jonna Love, Michael Nelson, Dienna Jordan, Arizona Nelms, Destin Nelms; sister, Sue Evans (Mike); brother, Wilson Almand (Margaret); as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Wanda will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Friday, October 1, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
