W. A. "Robby" Robinson, a man of unwavering dedication and profound love for his family, passed away peacefully at Putnam General Hospital in Eatonton, Georgia, after a long and courageous battle with illness. He was 93 years old.

Born on November 22, 1932, in the small town of Elberton, Georgia, Robby was the beloved son of Ethelle Balchin Robinson and George Frederick Robinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers George and Fayette Robinson, his sister Sonia Robinson Anderson, and his cherished daughters, Celeste Robinson Lunsford and Janice Robinson Mondelli.

Robby is survived by his devoted wife, Rachel Irene Mitchell Robinson, with whom he shared more than 45 years of marriage, having wed on his birthday in 1980. Their union was marked by resilience and love, weathering both the best and most challenging of times. He leaves behind his daughter, Michelle Robinson Roper and her husband, Michael, along with four treasured grandchildren: Sheldon Roper (Hunter), Chris Giddens, Alec Giddens, and Ian Giddens. Robby was blessed to see the growth of his family into the next generation, with five great-grandchildren carrying forward his legacy.

Robby's life was a testament to the power of self-education and determination. After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, including time spent in Korea and Germany, he attained the rank of Sergeant and was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany), and The Good Conduct Medal. Utilizing his military benefits, Robby pursued studies in polygraph and document examination, becoming a pioneer in the industry. Under the mentorship of Cleve Backster, Robby honed his skills and later founded his own successful company, W. A. Robinson and Associates, in Atlanta. His leadership as Chair of the State Polygraph Board for 20 years left a lasting impact on those he mentored.

After retiring from polygraph, Robby transitioned to a career as a Certified and Court-Qualified Document Examiner, serving the southeastern United States with distinction. His career was marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and innovation, inspiring those around him with his belief that true education extends beyond formal schooling.

A man of diverse interests, Robby was active in the Fulton County Sheriff's Reserve and served as a POST instructor, sharing his expertise in interrogation, document examination, and crime scene investigation. In his leisure time, he found joy in fishing and nurturing the earth, founding Doe Creek Farm, which continues to provide fresh blueberries to the local community.

Robby will be remembered for his gentle pace through life, his love for storytelling, and his fierce loyalty to family, friends, and country. His legacy is one of tenacity, love, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

A service to honor Robby's life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, GA 30014. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund in Wellesley Hills, MA, in honor of Robby's memory and his enduring spirit.
