Virginia F. Shrader

Virginia F. Shrader, of Oxford, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the age of 96. Mrs. Shrader was a resident of Newton County since 1976. She enjoyed being outside whether she was riding trails on her Gator, tinkering in her rock garden, or riding horses in her younger years. In addition, Mrs. Shrader was a great piano player. She will be remembered as wonderful mother to her sons. Mrs. Shrader was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Martin Shrader, Sr.; parents, Charles and Sedonia Franklin; sister, Leona Hon; and brothers, Charles Franklin, Jr., Thomas Franklin.

Survivors include her sons, Raymond Shrader, Jr. (Brenda), Robert Shrader, Sr. (Rosalyn), Richard Shrader, Sr. (Melissa); 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Shrader will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022, 2:30 P.M., at Oxford Historical Cemetery, in Oxford, with Dr. Cody McNutt officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family Wednesday, November 2, from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
