Una Amanda Shaw, of Covington, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the age of 85. Mrs. Shaw will be remembered as a loving, caring, and selfless woman whose greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with those she loved and was known for her infectious laughter, generous heart, and unwavering kindness. She opened her home to many who came to this country, offering comfort, support, and a place to belong. She worked hard to provide for her family and believed deeply in the importance of ensuring her children received a good education.

Mrs. Shaw found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching her favorite television shows, including The Young and the Restless, Guiding Light, Days of Our Lives, Walker, Texas Ranger, In the Heat of the Night, Murder, She Wrote, and Touched by an Angel. She also enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and preparing delicious meals for her family, especially her famous curry chicken, fish soup, and fried fish. Her warmth, generosity, and loving spirit touched countless lives, and her memory will forever be treasured by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Lenworth Mcfarlene, Patricia Taylor-Daley, Charles Taylor, Everal Shaw, Hayley Shaw-Jones; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Lovell McKail; and sister, Rosalind Jarrett.

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Shaw will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Voice of Pentecost (4648 Salem Rd, Covington) with interment following at Lawnwood Memorial Park (1111 Access Rd, Covington).  Friends are invited to visit with the family the evening prior, Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home (1215 Access Rd, Covington).
