Mr. Terry Wayne Goodman, of Monroe, GA transitioned from his earthly home to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the age of 68.
Mr. Goodman was born on March 2, 1957, in Old Porterdale Hospital. He was a native of Georgia, living in the Newton, Rockdale and Monroe areas.
He was employed in the field of Nursing for 44 years. He graduated from Dekalb Technical School of Nursing in 1977 as the first male nurse from Dekalb Technical School in Covington, GA. At that time he worked at “The Old” Rockdale County Hospital for 20 years, now Piedmont Rockdale. After having serious back surgery, Mr Goodman held several Administrative positions in Personal Care and Assisted Living Facilities prior to joining Agape Hospice Care in 2012 until 2020. At that time he was diagnosed with Parkinson's and was no longer able to drive.
Mr. Goodman married the love of his life, Judy Johnson Goodman on December 1, 1984. The two were true soulmates and enjoyed spending time together traveling to the beach and mountains....spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Goodman was a wonderful friend. Always ready to help. He was a prayer warrior, loved Southern Gospel Music and strived to serve his Lord and Savior in every area of his life.
Mr. Goodman was a longtime member of The Baptist Tabernacle, graduating from Tabernacle Christian School Covington, GA. After moving from Covington, he and Judy were active members of Baptist Tabernacle and Glenn Haven Baptist Church in McDonough. After moving to Monroe, they joined Bible Baptist Church, which they dearly loved.
Mr. Goodman was preceded in death by his parents, Williams Horace and Mary Hazel Goodman of Covington, his sister, Linda Diane Goodman Kirk of August, GA. Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clint T. and Bertha Mae (Benton) Durden and Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Lillian (Martin) Goodman of Porterdale, GA.
He is survived by his caring wife of 41 years, Judy. She had been his faithful and loving caregiver up until his last breath alongside Bradley. Nephews, Bradley Buckley, Bennett Buckley, Brayden Buckley, Brycson Buckley, Stephen Buckley, Michael Buckley, Matthew Johnson, Noah Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Hunter Thomas; niece, Brittany Kirk and Carly Thomas; sister-in-law, Paula Hinely; brothers-in-law, Calvin (Thanya) Johnson and Jim Kirk.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Goodman will be held Friday, December 5, 2025, 12:00 P.M., at Bible Baptist Church, 1180 Old Monroe Madison Highway, in Monroe, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the church, one hour prior to his service from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.
