Sasha Kamala McWilliams of Studio City, California, passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 47. Born on February 20, 1978, Sasha exemplified a life rich with love, creativity, and dedication. She left behind a profound legacy that will be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her, especially her family and friends.
Sasha was preceded in death by her son, paternal grandparents, Henry Fitzroy Stephen and Nelda Patricia DaSilva; maternal grandparents, Pertab Singh and Agnes Singh; her brother, Baby boy Stephen; and her father-in-law, Richard McWilliams, Sr.
Sasha was a spirited individual whose passions encompassed a variety of interests. She had a deep love for music and photography, often capturing the beauty of moments that would otherwise go unnoticed. Her adventurous soul found joy in traveling, exploring new cultures, and making cherished memories along the way. At home, she thrived in her role as a dedicated homemaker, taking delight in decorating her home, cooking delicious meals, and making candles that filled her home with warmth and light.
Sasha is survived by her beloved husband, Rasheed McWilliams, and her devoted parents, Terrence and Pamela Stephen. She leaves behind her sister, Kezia Johnson, along with brothers-in-law Richard McWilliams, Jr. and Derrick Young; sisters-in-law, Corleone McWilliams and Daniele Dooley; as well as a host of nieces and nephews including Alan Dixon, Toshiba Dixon, Veronica Dixon, Adrian Dooley-McWilliams, Kamal Johnson, Kimani McWilliams, Collin Dooley, Jonathan Young, and Tezyah Young; mother-in-law, Diana McWilliams; and she is remembered fondly by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives she touched.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life; Sasha was a devout woman whose love for God and family shone brightly. She cherished her family deeply and took great pride in being a loving presence in the lives of her godchildren: Daiquan Starr, Kaim Welcher, Madison Casey, Logan Casey, London Casey, Jaxon Casey, Brooklyn Casey, Peyton Casey, Christopher White, and Skylar Allicock.
Sasha Kamala McWilliams' indomitable spirit, her love for family and her passions, and her unwavering faith will live on in all of us who were blessed to share in her life. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at First Baptist Church East Point at 11:00 A.M. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, Georgia 30084.
