Sarah Jane Brownlee, of Covington, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at the age of 83. Mrs. Brownlee was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy was spending time with those she loved. She enjoyed going anywhere and doing anything, whether it was camping, fishing, shopping, dining out, or simply making memories with family and friends. Mrs. Brownlee also enjoyed watching the Food Network and loved hosting family gatherings, always welcoming loved ones into her home. Her kind heart, adventurous spirit, and deep love for her family will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, T.J. and Bessie Miller; and her sister, Louise Murphy.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Brownlee; children, Tonya Haralson (Ricky), Kevin Brownlee (Tonya), Connie Croy (Scottie); grandchildren, Sami Clark (Blaine Fisher), Kara Taylor, Shelby Brownlee (Chase Smith), Kaitlyn Ellis (Ty), Hayden Middlebrooks, J.D. Middlebrooks; great-grandchildren, Rylee (Makayla), Isaac, Kyler, Cohen, Liam, Crew, Easton, Lawson, Addie, and one on the way; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Brownlee will be held Friday, June 19, 2026, 2:0 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following at the Memory Chapel Mausoleum in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Thursday, June 18, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., and then again one hour prior to her service on Friday, from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M.
