Ruth Mitchell Bailey, of the Conyers and Monroe area, was welcomed into Heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the evening of August 17, 2025, at over 92 years of age. A true woman of God, Ruth, an ordained minister, served on the staffs of several churches and non-profits, and ran a successful accounting business for over 35 years. She was a member of Victorious Life Church in Conyers.
She was the beloved wife of the late Sidney Bailey for 65 years, and known as Daughter, Sister, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, "Sister" Ruth, "Doctor" Ruth; and cherished Friend during a long life that was lived with excellence.
She was preceded in death by parents Seth and Elcer Mitchell; brothers, J.S. Mitchell, Jr., Horace Mitchell, Sr., Robert Mitchell, and grandson, Jonathan Naizer.
Her giving spirit, optimistic and faith-filled outlook lives on in the hearts of her family including daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charles Dudish; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Teri Bailey; grandchildren, Tony and Becky Dudish, Lori and Justin Wojtczak, Seth and Lindsay Bailey, Reid and Madison Bailey, Mikayla and Jordan Vass, Z.J. Naizer, Elizabeth Naizer, and Jessica Naizer; eight great-grandchildren, Hudson, Walker, Finley, Kylin, Sawyer, Charlee, Drew, and Brady; sister-in-law Barbara Bailey, sister-in-law Brenda Capps as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life for Ruth will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025, 11:00 A.M., Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home one hour prior to her service, from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M.
