Roy Harrison Blackmon

Roy Harrison Blackmon, of Covington, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the age of 75. Mr. Blackmon passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of simple joys, quiet strength, and a life well lived. He was happiest tending to his chickens, spending peaceful mornings and evenings caring for them with a steady hand and a gentle heart. He loved watching wrestling, cheering on his favorites with enthusiasm, and finding excitement in every match. Fishing was his refuge, a place where he found calm, patience, and connection to the outdoors.

Most of all, Mr. Blackmon cherished time on his front porch, rocking in his favorite chair, waving at neighbors, and enjoying the world as it moved around him. His warm presence and easy smile will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Lillian Blackmon; son, Michael Medrano; sisters, Alma Burroughs, Brenda Strickland, Annette Maulden; brothers, Chester Blackmon, Wayne Blackmon, Jerry Blackmon, and Gary Blackmon.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marlene Blackmon; daughter, Tammy Morris; sons, Roy Blackmon (Peach), Gary Blackmon; grandchildren, Noah Blackmon, Avery Blackmon, Kaylee Blackmon, Tina Morris, Lisa Morris, Brian Morris; great-grandchildren, Winter Blackmon;

sister, Betty Burroughs; brothers, Leon Blackmon, Rufus Blackmon, Billy Paul Blackmon, Ricky Blackmon, Donnie Blackmon; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Blackmon will be held Monday, November 24, 2025, 1:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Sunday, November 23, from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M., and again on Monday, prior to his service from 10:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
