Obituary

Ronald Clyde Duclos, Jr., of Conyers, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the age of 64. Ron, as he liked to be called, lived a life defined by hard work, service and devotion to those he loved. An accomplished general contractor for many years, he took pride in providing for his family. He was a proud Army veteran whose dedication and strength were evident in every aspect of his life. In his younger years, he was a talented hockey player, and throughout his life he found joy on the golf, especially during rounds at Cherokee Run.

Ron will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, friend, and hero, whose kindness and love for family will leave a lasting legacy.

More than anything, Ron cherished his family: Beverly, who was the love of his life and his devoted partner for more than 40 years, and Amelia, his loving daughter who shares the same life values as her “Daddy”. He was a constant presence in his granddaughters’ softball tournaments, always cheering them on from the sidelines. He enjoyed cooking breakfast for them and treasured every moment.

Ron wanted his granddaughters, Maddie and Charlie, to be kind, to be respectful of others, and to believe in themselves. Those who shared moments throughout Ron's life remember him always keeping in touch and enjoying their special times together. He was respected as an honest person who never left a job undone. Ron was very generous, especially at Thanksgiving, when he would buy turkeys and, with the help of his friends, cook them to give to others. God created all things, but He took special care in crafting the rose. He also took similar care in crafting Ron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Clyde Duclos, Sr., and Dolores Braman.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Duclos; daughter, Amelia Nelson (Patrick); grandchildren, Madison Nelson, Charlotte Nelson; sisters, Wendy Miner, Robin Duclos; brothers, Michael Duclos Sr. (Karen), Steven Duclos Sr. (Jennifer); step-mother, Louise Duclos; sisters-in-law; Judith Tapley (Thomas), Patricia Pipczynski (John), Diane Scott, Brenda Keir (David), Sally Wickles (Jeffrey) as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Duclos will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Deacon Fred officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family two hours prior to his service from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.
