Robert "Bob" Thomas Smith

d. October 30, 2023

Robert “Bob” Thomas Smith, from Louisville, Kentucky currently living in Covington, Georgia, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at the age of 73. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Juanita Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Shirley Baringer Smith; sons, Travis Smith (Jess), Tyler Smith (Mary Caroline); grandchildren, Mary Claire, Sloane, Ty, Weston, Maelyn; and brother, Bud Smith (Jane).

Mr. Smith left us with heavy hearts and a profound sense of gratitude for the legacy he leaves behind.

He was dubbed “Mr. Fix It” as a master of all things mechanical.  He relished tackling home improvement projects, tinkering with family cars, and the thrill of repairing and riding his beloved motorcycles. And due to his cheerful attitude, he affectionately was also known as “Jolly Bob.” His dedication extended beyond machines and motors. Mr. Smith was a devoted father who poured his heart into supporting his sons in their sporting endeavors and their decades-long journey with the Boy Scouts of America. He was proud to take on the role of a BSA Scoutmaster and had such fun with his riding buddies earning the Iron Butt Motorcycle Association patch.

He will be remembered as a kind man who believed in the power of a smile and lending a helping hand. He will be deeply missed and his joyful spirit lives on in our hearts.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bob Smith to the Lincoln Heritage Council Boy Scouts of America at https://donations.scouting.org/ . Please scroll down and click text box Give to Local.
