Robert Benson Dial

Robert Benson Dial, of Social Circle, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the age of 73. Benson was employed with Snapping Shoals EMC for 47 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed going fishing and hunting with family and friends. Benson was a very generous man and helped anyone he saw that needed a helping hand. He was a hard-working husband, loving father, compassionate grandfather, and devoted friend. Benson was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Benson and Jessie Cecile Dial.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pat Dial; sons, Greg Mote (Mae), J.B. Dial, II (Jessica); grandchildren, Kade Mote, Alaina Smith, Sawyer Mote, Ryleigh Dial, Asher Mote, and Aubree Dial; sisters, Laurie Ramsey, and Joan Youngblood; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Benson will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2023, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Scott Fuss officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday, March 6, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/ .
