Richard David English Sr. was born on April 8, 1966, and passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, surrounded by his children and love. He was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn English. His passing marks the end of a long and difficult journey and the beginning of eternal peace.
Richard was a father whose presence and spirit left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He was deeply loved by his children and cherished his role as Pops. His legacy lives on through the family he leaves behind and the memories they will carry forward.
He is survived by his children: Richard English Jr., Kristin English, and Kelsey English, along with his daughter-in-law, Sarah English, and son-in-law, Kevin Norton, both of whom he loved and embraced as his own. He is also survived by his sisters, Vickie English and Kim English.
He was a proud Pops to Robert “Guy” English, Tegan Arnold, Thomas “Aiden” English, Masen Arnold, James “Rylan” Moore, Kenzy Arnold, Christopher “Ryker” Norton, Kaiden O’Connell, Kylie Belle English, Shane Davis, and Shanna Davis.
In his final moments, Richard was surrounded by prayer, family, and comfort. While his passing does not lessen the grief of those left behind, it brings peace knowing that his suffering has ended. His family finds comfort in believing he has been reunited with loved ones who went before him, welcomed with open arms.
Richard will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the mark he left on each of their lives. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
“He didn’t walk every mile of life with faith, but he found God at the end of his journey—and that faith carried him home.”
A Memorial Service for Mr. English will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2026, 11:00 A.M. at New Life Praise Center 8111 Brown Bridge Road, Covington, Georgia 30014.
