Reed Newell Jones, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at the age of 95. Mr. Jones was a kind and easygoing man who loved his family dearly, especially the time he spent with his grandchildren. He was a devoted provider and a talented electronics technician. During the Korean War, he served as an electronic technician aboard a minesweeper, and later assembled test equipment for NASA. He enjoyed bird watching, game time, car trips, traveling, trains, and attending classical music concerts. He especially enjoyed telling his family stories and sharing memories from throughout his life. A man of faith, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Covington and was a founding member of Northwest Baptist Church in Wisconsin. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his stories, and the love he shared with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Jones; son, Kenneth Jones; parents, John and Leila Jones; and siblings, Frances Bowers, Charles Jones, Stephen Jones.

Survivors include his children, David Jones (Grace), Steve Jones (Debbie), Allen Jones; grandchildren, Sarah Jones, Cara Brown (Terry), Matthew Burley; great-grandchildren, Tyler Rowell, Tanner Brown, Trevor Brown, Whitney Burley, Tara Brown, Lindy Sechrist (Adam);

Sister, Lavinia Griffin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
