Ray Alton Brown, of Griffin, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the age of 78. Mr. Brown was a man who truly never met a stranger. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, including service in South Korea, an experience he spoke of with honor and pride. He graduated from Susquehanna University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He loved traveling to Panama City Beach, where he found joy and relaxation by the water.
A natural helper, Mr. Brown was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He had a passion for working on cars, enjoyed fishing, and had a deep appreciation for history. Gifted with the ability to speak a few languages, he especially enjoyed showing off that talent whenever he could. Mr. Brown will be remembered for his kindness, curiosity, and the many lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nevin and Mavis Brown; and brother, Don Brown.
Survivors include his daughters, Jodi Chatagnier (Dirk), Christy Brown (Trent Thomas); grandchildren, Alyssa Brown, Hayden Hubbard, Piper Hubbard, Nevin Brown; great-grandchildren, Salem Yancey; as well as his first wife, Jimmye Strickland.
