Rachel Biggers, of Covington, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the age of 82. Mrs. Biggers was a loving and devoted family woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved watching WWE, especially cheering for her favorite, Roman Reigns, and never missed an episode of COPS. One of her greatest joys was watching her grandchildren play baseball, moments she cherished deeply. One of her greatest contributions was the way she impacted the many lives of the children who rode her bus. She enjoyed hunting, cooking, and spending meaningful time with her family. Mrs. Biggers was a faithful member of New Life Praise Center, where she found fellowship and spiritual comfort. She will be remembered for her love of family, her warm spirit, and the joy she found in everyday moments.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Skeet Biggers; son, Scott Biggers; parents, B.W. and Nellie Shannon; brothers, Theron Shannon and Herman Shannon; sisters, Shirley Poulnot and Barbara Henry.
Survivors include her daughters, Becky Smith (Bert), Sandy Smith (Michael); son, Jim Biggers; grandchildren, Chris Biggers (Lauren), Christina "Wink" Xivir (Juan), Megan Schmidt (Taylor), Rachel "Punkin" Bryant (Terry), Jessica "Jedda" Russell (James), Katie Stevens (Tyler), Cole Smith (Mattie), Will Smith (Jada), Ashleigh "Ash" Smith, Christy Mosley, Chad Robinson; great-grandchildren, Aasha Kenney (Marvin), Isaiah "Zae" Biggers, Kaiden Stevens, James Russell III, Briella Russell, Faith Bryant, Christian Biggers, Cal Schmidt, Harper Schmidt, Reign Smith, Josias Smith, Beau Bryant, Zoa Smith, McCall Smith, Lilah Russell, Hudson Stevens; great-great-grandchildren, Ayden Kenney, Mason Hamilton, Emmanuel Hamilton, and one on the way; sisters, Charlotte White (Larry), Janice Wheeler, Vickie (Mark) Gagne; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Biggers will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, @ 12:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Friday, January 2, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M
