Patricia Anne Brake, lovingly known as "Nana", of Covington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the age of 65.

Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved camping trips to Lake Oconee and Cherokee, tending to her flowers, and watching butterflies flutter through her garden. Butterflies held a special place in her heart and will forever remind her loved ones of her beautiful spirit. She also adored her dogs, who brought her endless companionship and joy.

Nana will be remembered for her kindness, strength, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her stepson, Delane Brake; her parents, Johnny and Sarah Banks; and her brother, Johnny Banks.

She is survived by her loving husband, Melvin Brake; her son, Dean Brake (Melanie); stepchildren, Angie Rue, Melvin Brake II (Laura), and Johnny Brake (Julie); grandchildren, Jade Cannon (Chase), Tyra Gainey (Dakota), Mya Leal (Nick), Tyler Brake, Tristan Brake (Haley), Logan Brake, and Lauren Brake; great-grandchildren, Ryker Leal, Charlei Cannon, Navy Leal, and Cooper Cannon; sister, Theresa McCain (Troy); brothers, Sammy Banks, David Banks, Gary Banks, Sr., Steven Banks, Terry Banks, and Phillip Banks; and many other family members and friends.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Brake will be held Thursday, June 18, 2026, 12:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Wednesday, June 17, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family one hour prior to her service from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.
