Noami Lynne Jeffries

July 7, 1946 — October 10, 2025

Noami Lynne Jeffries, of Covington, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 10th, at the age of 79, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Jeffries, Jr.; son, Mark Jeffries; parents, J.T. and Myrtice Smith; and sister, Sandra Hopkins.

She was survived by her daughters; Hope McCullough (Billy), Amanda Ardiel (Wes), and Christa Norman (Jeffrey); Brother; Jack Smith (Mary); Brother-in-law; Fred Hopkins; Sis-in- law; Marsha Jeffries and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also blessed with eight precious grandchildren — Joseph, Megan, and Abigail McCullough; Mayla, Naomi, and Dawson Ardiel; Navia Mann and River Norman — all of whom brought her immense joy. Her grandkids were her world, and she poured her heart into every moment she shared with them. They all knew her as “Dan Dan”.

Noami’s life was anchored in her love for the Lord Jesus Christ and The Message of the Hour, which she held so close to her heart. Her faith was steadfast, her stand unwavering, and her testimony a shining example of God’s saving grace.

She wrote beautiful poetry and many inspired songs that reflected her love for the Lord. She often enjoyed playing the piano and singing with her grandchildren.

In her early years, Noami worked at The Covington News, where her talent for writing shined. Once her beloved Junior came into her life, he made sure she never had to work outside the home again, because home was her favorite place to be!

Noami was truly amazing in the kitchen and known for the best biscuits around! Not to mention her Thanksgiving dressing, chicken and dumplings, and who could forget her delicious banana pudding.

Noami will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her songs, her joyful laughter, her kindness, and her unwavering faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
