Michael F. Capps

Michael F. Capps, of Covington, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023, at the age of 80. Mr. Capps was an avid outdoorsman and liked going rabbit and deer hunting. In times of relaxation, he enjoyed floating down the river and going fishing. Mr. Capps was fond of watching the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons play. Additionally, he was an unwavering fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs and loved to watch them play ball between the hedges each fall. Mr. Capps had an incredible green thumb and took great pride in his gardening. He cherished playing horseshoes with friends and family and treasured the memories made together. Mr. Capps was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Myrtle Capps; sister, Jackie Brey; and brothers, Jasper Page, Joe Capps.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammie Cheek (Steve); son, Roger Capps; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, June Smith, Wilda Serenko; brother, Douglas Capps; and numerous nieces and nephews.
