Ann Duncan, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on May 3rd, 2025, in Social Circle, Georgia, at the age of 85. Born on July 1st, 1939, in Decatur, Georgia, to David Edwin and Glennie Odessa Weldon, Ann was a woman whose presence was synonymous with kindness and generosity. Mary Ann's life was a testament to her unwavering love for her family and her deeply cherished faith. She was greeted at Heaven’s gates by her beloved parents; her treasured grandchildren, Amber West and Ricky Wilson Jr; and Matthew West; and her brothers, Harold and Donald Weldon, all of whom preceded her in death. The legacy of Ann's boundless love is carried forward by her devoted husband, Rev. Tommy Duncan, and her adoring children, Stacy and Artie West, Gwen and Ricky Wilson Sr, Sandy and Randall Schexnayder, Devin and Alex Atkins, Misty and Jack Greene, and her son Butch Eidson with spouse Gretchen Nabors. Her spirit will forever be cherished in the hearts of her grandchildren Jonathon, Keeli, Joshua, Austin, Katelyn, Clayton, Ethan, Tristan, Emma, Blake, BJ, Summer, and Levi, and she was proud to see her lineage continue through her great-grandchildren Savannah, Georgia, Tyson, Talan, Annabel, Colby, Sutter, Colson, and Ellie. Her sister, Laverne Webb, alongside numerous nieces and nephews, remembers Mary Ann's gentle demeanor and her capacity to love without bounds. Mary Ann was a special lady known for her heart of gold. She loved the Lord with all her heart and embodied the virtues of a faithful servant. She embraced everyone she met, never casting judgment but offering warmth and acceptance. Her loving, kind, and gentle nature touched everyone she encountered, creating a ripple effect of positivity and compassion throughout her community. Ann's life journey speaks of her dedication to her family, her passion for life, and her unwavering faith. As her soul rests in eternal peace, her memory will serve as a guiding light—a reminder of the profound impact one’s love and kindness can have on the world. She was not just the matriarch of her family, but a cornerstone of her community, a friend to all, and an embodiment of grace. Ann Duncan will be dearly missed, yet her spirit will live on through the cherished moments shared and the lives she has so profoundly touched.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Duncan will be held Wednesday , May 7, 2025, 02:30PM., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home 1215 Access Road Covington Ga 30014. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, prior to the service, from 12:00- 2:30PM. In lieu of flowers the family has ask donation be made to funeral home to cover funeral expenses.
