Mary Ann Christian Jacob, 87, of Madison, Georgia passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025. She was the daughter of Mary Cooper Christian and P.D. Christian, Jr. She leaves behind her husband George Richard Jacob, Jr., and children, Dr. Leslie Jacob Lathem (Jim), Courtney Jacob and George Richard Jacob, III (Denise), grandson, James Jacob Lathem (Lizzie), granddaughters, Mary Allison Lathem, Virginia Jacob Cruse (Andy), Leila Jacob, and great-granddaughter, Audrey Cruse; brother-in-law, Irvin Dickson (Lani); sister-in-law, Cornerlia Arlene Gillespie (Dewey Howard), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was a loving wife, mother, and aunt. She loved animals, spoiling her grandchildren and reading. Because she loved reading and sharing books with others we plan to start a Little Tree Library in Madison in her memory.
She was a Phi Mu at the University of Georgia where she was named Miss Modern Venus. She was the Sweetheart of Phi Delta Theta at Georgia Tech. She made her debut at the Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta. She was the founder and president of the Cherokee Cotillion and she worked as a sales director at Carlisle for many years. We will have a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Morgan County. 1170 Fairground Road, Madison, Georgia 30650.
