Marvin Wells

Marvin Wells, of Covington, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025, at the age of 91. Mr. Wells was a devoted family man whose love and dedication to those closest to him never wavered. He had a passion for working on mechanical projects around the house and found joy in the simple things, like watching football—especially cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and the Philadelphia Eagles—and relaxing with a good golf match. A faithful member of Dovestone Church, he prayed for his family daily and made it a point to read three chapters of the Bible every day, also praying every day from 6:00 A.M. - 8:00 A.M.. He had a true servant's heart and made sure his children were raised with strong faith, always ensuring they were in church from a young age. His steady presence, quiet strength, and deep love will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ilene Wells; parents, Clarence and Ruby Wells; brothers, James Wells, Prentiss Wells, Luther Wells, Walter Wells; and sister, Rachel Clements.

Survivors include his daughter, Marcia Fox (Tony); son, Mark Wells (Gwen); step-children, Shaun Chubb (Marybeth), Phillip Chubb (Lori), Lynn Lantz; grandchildren, Lasha Bass, Philip Lowe, Laramy Wells, Leslie Pate; great-grandchildren, Svea Cohron, Michael Studdard, Ruby Wells, Lily Wells; brothers, Richard Wells, Clarence Wells; sisters, Flora Glisson, Quntiss Johnson, Diane Cheek, Mary Pace; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Cryptside Service for Mr. Wells will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025, 3:00 P.M., in Lawnwood Memorial Park in the Memory Chapel Mausoleum, 1111 Access Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, one hour prior to his service, from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M.
