Mark Grady Beam, Sr., (1958-2025) stepped into the arms of Jesus on September 21, 2025.
Mark graduated from Newton County High School in 1977. He then enlisted in the U.S Navy in 1977 joining the U.S.S Dixon as a MS3 until 1981. Mark then enlisted into the U.S. Army National Guard as a Specialist Four, 1st Battalion, 122nd Infantry from 1981 until 1983.
Mark lived with his loving wife, Susan D. Beam in McDonough, GA. He was a faithful follower of Christ and he never lost his joy. Mark was a member of Canaan Baptist Church for fifty years and served as Bus Captain in the Bus Ministry for more than twenty years. Mark and Susan Beam have been members of Harvest Baptist Tabernacle since 2017, serving together in their local community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Magnus G. Beam (Effie); and his loving sister, Deborah B. Hanson.
Mark was known to be a good husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was well liked by many and known to have a great sense of humor. Mark taught his children how to love and care for their family. He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Susan; his children, Stacy (Terrance Perston), Brandon (Lauren); his grandchildren, Eli and Maybrie; his sister, Mary Johnson; brother-in-law, Gary Hansen; and sister-in-law, Tabatha Tarlton (Lee); nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Beam will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025, 2:30 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Thursday prior to his service, from 12:00 - 2:30 P.M.
