Margie Bowers, of Social Circle, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the age of 91. Mrs. Bowers was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished member of the Oxford community. Family was always at the heart of her life, and she poured her generous spirit and unwavering love into every moment shared with them.
Together with her husband, she co-founded Bowers Fabrication Service, Inc., a successful business that stood as a testament to their hard work and partnership. Mrs. Bowers was known for her deep love of animals, her commitment to service through the Covington Service Guild, and her active role in the women’s group at her church.
Those who knew her remember her as generous, wise, straightforward yet kind. She found joy in constantly renovating and improving her home, creating a space that reflected her warmth and creativity. Mrs. Bowers enjoyed traveling and listening to all music - especially Elvis but mostly she enjoyed time with her family.
Mrs. Bowers leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and strength that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Tommy Bowers; Parents, Elvin and Lillian Leineweber; and Siblings, Elvin Leineweber, Louise Brice, Larry Leineweber, Nell Hanson.
Survivors include her children, Larry K. Murphy, David A. Murphy, Sheri M. Simpson, Michael G. Bowers; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Bowers will be held Friday, May, 16, 2025, 2:00 P.M., at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington.
