Margaret Wilene Shannon

Margaret Wilene Shannon, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the age of 89. Mrs. Shannon was a member of Canaan Baptist Church for over 50 years. She loved her church and was very involved. Mrs. Shannon taught Sunday School classes, sang in the choir, and helped with the bus ministries. She worked for Georgia Power for several years where she was very devoted and professional. Mrs. Shannon was caring and generous and had a wonderful sense of humor that could light up any room. She was also known for cutting up and telling jokes to make others laugh. Mrs. Shannon was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Mundy; and grandson, Daniel Jeffery Mundy, II.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Ottalini (Bryan); sons, Keith Shannon (Lynne), Michael Shannon; grandchildren, Sarah Mundy, Kevin Shannon, Cole Shannon; great-grandchild, Tyler Shannon; sisters, Mary Scott, Shirley Thompson, Linda Waldon (Tommy); brothers, Wilson Cole (Pat), Kenneth Cole, Charles Cole (Beverly); as well several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Shannon will be held Monday, October 2, 2023, 2:00 P.M., at Canaan Baptist Church, 5581 Salem Road, in Covington, with Pastor Billy Ingram officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family Sunday, October 1, from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
