Obituary

Larry Wendell Pelphrey, of Conyers, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the age of 79. Mr. Pelphrey will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and Papaw who shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life. A faithful servant of the Lord, he served as a deacon at his church for more than 30 years and was a dedicated employee of AT&T for over 42 years. Mr. Pelphrey enjoyed playing golf and bowling, but he was perhaps best known for his hardworking nature and his ability to fix just about anything. He was a source of wisdom and guidance to his children, always offering sound advice and steady encouragement. His love for his family, strong faith, and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Cecil Pelphrey and Virginia Fay Pelphrey.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Pelphrey; daughter, Michelle Magistro (Jason); son, Andy Pelphrey (Brandi); grandchildren, Kate Pelphrey, Joseph Magistro, Abigail Magistro, Ali Pelphrey; as well as his sisters and brother-in-law, Stella Ann Leisure, Pam Diane and Ken Woodworth.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Pelphrey will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, 11:00 A.M., at Heritage Hills Baptist Church, 2987 Georgia 212, in Conyers. Friends are invited to visit with the family, Friday, June 19, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, and again one hour prior his service at the church from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M.
