Kent Allard Bond, of Lawrenceville, passed away Monday, April 2, 2024, at the age of 78. Mr. Bond, a proud veteran, courageously served his country in the Vietnam War. He attended college at Pensacola Junior College where he played football and basketball. Mr. Bond loved life and was a godly man. He enjoyed going on cruises, fishing, playing cards and gambling. Mr. Bond loved to eat and loved spending time with his family. He was a very caring, giving man and an inspiration to all who knew him. Mr. Bond was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Edna Bond; second wife, Norma Bond; son-in-law, David Shoemaker; sister-in-law, Micki Bond.
Survivors include his son, Jeff Bond (Laurie); step-daughter, Gina Shoemaker; step-son, Scott Brown (Jeannie); grandchildren, Jeffery Bond, Austin Bercaw, Bryan Shoemaker, Tammy Lauderdale, Chasity Green, Christie Welch, Nicklaus Brown, Amanda Brown; great-grandchildren, Gabe Bercaw, Zayne Bercaw, Austin Lauderdale, Tyler Miller, Brandon Green, Brittany Green, Molly Welch, Saban Plott, Bryant Plott, Jaydon Brown, Jaylynn Brown, Journey Brown, Kyla Bercaw; sister, Kathy Bond; brother, Kurt Bond; niece, Kristen Cox; nephew, Kyle Bond; first wife, Susan Eagle.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Bond will be held Friday, April 5, 2024, 1:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Rick Walden officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the at the funeral home, Thursday, April 4, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
