Katherine “Katie” Smith, age 52, passed away on September 12, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Diane and Walter Regeski, Jr.

Katie is survived by her husband, Robert Darity; her sons, Nicholas Eads (Larand), Kaleb Smith, and Zachary Smith (Madison); her sisters, Angie Regeski, Lisa Regeski, and Sarah Regeski; and her brother, Walter Regeski III.

Katie’s greatest joy was her boys. She was there for their football games, band activities, and every interest they pursued, always encouraging them to support one another, stand up for what is right, and most importantly, love one another.

She was the kind of person who could pull you through the hardest moments and still be the friend you needed when you couldn't stand yourself. Katie found happiness in simple things—reading on stormy nights, quiet snow days, and Christmas, which she loved so much that she even enjoyed dressing as an elf.

Katie poured her heart into her family, and the love she gave her children will be her lasting legacy. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and friends.
