Kathryn Ann Spell, of Covington, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the age of 88. Mrs. Spell was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Covington. She was a graduate of Newton County High School and Georgia College, in Milledgeville. Mrs. Spell was an avid seamstress and baker, known for her exquisite cake-decorating skills. Her green thumb brought beauty to her garden, mirroring the love she showered on her family, especially her grandchildren. Family meant everything to her, and she had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. Mrs. Spell never met a stranger. Animals held a special place in her heart, especially her cherished pets, who provided comfort and companionship throughout the years. Mrs. Spell was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Spell; son, Donnie Spell; and granddaughter, Jennifer Simmons.
Survivors include her children, Joe Spell (Leigh-Ann), Patsy Teague, Debbie Knight, Ronnie Spell (Sheri), Kaye Plitt (Steve); grandchildren, Scott Spell, Samantha Dooley, Kelly Teague, III, Kerin Teague, Lawrence Mason, Marshall Mason, Stephanie Mason Hirth, Olivia Crenshaw, Shane Spell, Jessie Corbett, Whitney McKenzie, Eric Spell, Zackary Plitt; beloved great-grandchildren, Easton S., Matthew, Mackenzie, Noah, Makayla, Kelsey, Jeremiah, Nicholas, Easton M., Morgan, Savannah, Remi, Rowan, Maddie, Chelsie, Bella, Rhandi-Michelle, McKenley, Connor, Lennon, Esme, Gannon, Ila, Emily, Wyatt, Megan, Johnathon; as well as other loving family members.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Spell will be held Sunday, February 4th, 2024, 2:30 P.M., at New Life Praise Center, 8111 Brown Bridge Rd, Covington, GA 30014, with Pastor Justin Adams officiating.
